The front safety belts are prepared with pretensiners that automatically cinch the belts when an impact is detected. Second-generation airbag technology uses a lower level, yet effective deployment force, which reduces the risk of air bag related injury. Pickups are particularly lock-ups because their brakes, which are desined to be strong enough to stop the truck with a full load in the cargo bed, can lock impulsively when the cargo bed is empty.
