The new 3.8-liter V6 engine of the all new Sedona also has the best power statistics in the minivan segment. Mated with excellence, it delivers 244 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. As before, a five-speed automatic routes power to the front wheels. Fuel economy is now a livable with 18 miles per gallon in city and 25 miles per gallon on highway.
There are two types of trims available in the Sedona series as LX and EX, both boosted with same transmission, engine and miles per gallon. The base LX provides a 60 by 40 third-row bench, second-row captain's chairs, front-seat side airbags, head curtain airbags for all three rows, tri-zone air conditioning, an eight-speaker Compact Disc stereo, keyless entry, and stability control and 16-inch wheels.
Upgrading to the EX, this trim offers an eight-way power driver seat, nicer cloth upholstery, an media player compatible stereo, automatic headlights, an auto-dimming mirror, and 17-inch alloy wheels. In addition, the EX trim offers access to optional power-sliding doors and a power liftgate as well as the luxury package, which includes leather upholstery, auto climate control, seat heaters, adjustable pedals, driver-seat memory, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and rear parking sensors.
The all-new Sedona earned top honors in the minivan segment, beating the Honda Odyssey and collecting Kia's first-ever win in the annual vehicle satisfaction survey. It also includes even more class-leading safety features and has earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety top safety pick award. Additionally, it has received five-star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
