Ford's full-size three-quarter ton truck returns for 2006 with little change. The F250 is available in several choices to the consumer like 2WD or 4WD configurations, Regular Cab, Super Cab, or Crew Cab body styles, short or long bed lengths, and three trim levels, XL, LT, or Lariat. Engine choices include the Triton 5.4 litres V8 and 6.8 litres V10, and the Power Stroke 6.0 litres diesel.
Ford's TorqShift heavy-duty five-speed automatic transmission is offered, on all engine choices along side the standard six-speed manual transmission. Other available upgrade packages include the FX4 off-road package for 4WD models, XLT Sport Package, and an Advanced Security Group that features power locks, remote keyless entry, and auto-on headlamps is also available. The F-250 Super Duty and F-350 Super Duty are Ford’s heavy-duty pickups built on a separate platform from the light-duty F-150. Ford’s F-Series has been the best-selling truck in America for 27 straight years.
The 2006 Ford F-250 Super Duty offers the Amarillo Package for the Lariat Crew Cab that includes blazing yellow paint, 18-inch polished-aluminum forged wheels, brushed aluminum door trim, black leather seating surfaces with Amarillo logo, and chrome accents on both the exterior and interior. A chrome package is available on XLT and Lariat trim levels for super cab and crew cab that includes chrome grille, exhaust tip, tow hooks, mirror caps, pickup bed tie-downs and 5-inch tubular step bars. New king ranch colors are black clear coat with Arizona Beige, and true blue metallic clear coat with Arizona Beige.
