Dodge Ram
The Ram 1500 is the full-size Dodge half-ton pickup. The boldly-styled Ram replaced the previous Dodge pickup in 1994 and established the Ram 1500 as a top-selling new vehicle. The quad cab was added for the 1998 model of the year and the Ram was redesigned for 2002. The mega cab joins the lineup for 2006, featuring the largest cab ever offered in a pickup at 111 inches long with 145 cubic feet of interior volume. Based on the Ram 2500 long bed, the mega cab replaces the 8-foot bed with a 6-foot 3-inch bed to provide an additional 20 inches for the larger cab, which offers the most interior passenger space, cargo capacity, and functionality of any pickup. The Dodge Ram 1500 is available in three cab styles, regular, quad cab also called crew cab and Mega which is really big crew cab. The regular and quad cab models come with either a short or long cargo bed. For each body style, Dodge offers an ST, SLT or Laramie trim. The Ram ST is pretty bare bones, the SLT has alloy wheels, standard cruise control, cloth seating, keyless entry and power windows, locks and mirrors. The luxurious Laramie comes with standard upgrades like dual-zone automatic climate control, leather seating, a power driver seat, a six-CD changer and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. After 22 years in its former form, Dodge shelved its full-size pickup design in favor of a bold new Ram. Initially sold only with a regular-cab body, the Ram came with a short or long cargo box, 2 or 4 wheel drive, in three series 1500, 2500, and 3500, the latter with dual rear wheels. Dodge claimed to have the largest interior of any regular-cab pickup. Lowest-priced Ram was the work special 1500. Higher-cost versions were named LT, ST, and Laramie SLT. A new Off Road Group included 17-inch alloy wheels, a limited-slip differential, tow hooks, skid plates, and other heavy-duty equipment. A new SLT Plus luxury package, optional on Quad Cabs, included power heated leather seats, a CD player with steering-wheel audio controls, and keyless entry with a security alarm. All models now had a standard tachometer and underhood light. Due to the various attractive features and luxurious comforts of Dodge Ram, it is one of the favorite choices of the four-wheeler buyers. Its dashing and athletic look attracts many of the car lovers.
