Toyota Matrix
The Toyota Motor Corporation, or simply called Toyota, is a Japanese multinational corporation and the world's second largest automaker that manufactures automobiles, trucks, buses and robots and the world's eighth largest company. The company's headquarters are in Toyota, Aichi, Japan with factories and offices around the world. The company was founded in 1933 by Kiichiro Toyoda. Since then, Toyota has become one of the most successful and profitable Japanese companies and one of the world's most industry leading automobile corporations. The Toyota Matrix is a compact wagon manufactured by Toyota in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and sold in North America. Versatile cargo area, roomy rear seats, good gas mileage, generous standard equipment list, availability of all-wheel drive and stability control. The Toyota Matrix is available in mainly three models base, XR and XRS. Base level cars have the necessities such as air conditioning and a CD, compact disc player, but most of the worthwhile features are optional. The XR or XRS to get standard power locks and windows, keyless entry and a rear wiper. The other options include 16 or 17 inch aluminum alloy wheels, an all weather package, a DVD, digital versatile disc based navigation system, a power moonroof and two different premium sound systems. The Toyota Matrix comes with a 1.8 liter, four cylinder engine. The base and XR are offered a choice of either front wheel drive or full time all wheel drive. With front wheel drive, the engine makes 126 horsepower and 122 pound foot of torque. All wheel drive models make less power of 118 horsepower due to different exhaust routing. The front drive XRS is the sportiest trim. It comes standard with a 164 horsepower version of the 1.8 liter engine, four wheel disc brakes and a six speed manual transmission and no automatic is available.
The goal of the car is to offer the interior functionality and flexibility usually associated with larger vehicles but in a compact package. It is part of a growing list of sporty and affordable five door hatchbacks or wagons.
