Pontiac GTO
Pontiac is a brand of automobile produced by General Motors. Pontiac Motor Corporation manufactures nine different models namely G6 Sedan, G6 Coupe, G6 Convertible, Solstice, Grand Prix, Torrent, Vibe, G5 and GTO. Among these models, the Pontiac GTO offers strong performance, a value-oriented price and very attractive package.
Pontiac GTO defines Pontiac’s tough heritage and delivers on the company’s commitment to offer innovative products to customers that are affordable and of high-quality. Available as a 2 plus 2 sport coupe in one generously appointed trim level, this modern-day incarnation has more muscle than the original. Moreover, there is more engine here than the suspension can keep up with. The GTO is loaded with one of the best V8s ever made under the hood, comfortable enough to drive every day, interior design and quality worthy of the price tag.
The GTO’s standard features include 17-inch aluminum wheels, leather upholstery, eight-way power front seats, a premium Blaupunkt audio system with an in-dash six-disc compact disc changer, a trip computer and power windows, locks and mirrors. Available with a manual or automatic transmission, the GTO is power driven with a horrendous 6.0 liter V8 engine that generates 400 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The standard transmission is a four-speed overdrive automatic, but a six-speed, close-ratio manual transmission is available as an option. Regardless of which transmission is selected, all GTOs are available with a limited-slip discrepancy and traction control.
All Pontiac GTOs come standard with four-wheel antilock disc brakes, traction control, and multistage front airbags. The leather-trimmed front seats are comfortable and the overall interior design far surpasses that of the defunct Pontiac Firebird in terms of quality and functionality. The only letdowns of note are those generally endemic to a sport coupe tight access to the rear seat, heavy doors and a small trunk.
Pontiac GTO also features comfort with plenty of properly fitting leather and soft-touch materials. The roomy cockpit features comfortable seating that will not leave reaching for the painkillers. Though not as colorful as the exterior, the interior styling is still befitting a car that commands such a high price of admission.
