Pontiac G6
Pontiac is a brand of automobile produced by General Motors. Pontiac Motor Corporation manufactures nine different models namely G6 Sedan, G6 Coupe, G6 Convertible, Solstice, Grand Prix, Torrent, Vibe, G5 and GTO. Among these models, the Pontiac G6 offers strong performance, a value-oriented price and very attractive package.
The G6 model defines Pontiac’s tough heritage and delivers on the company’s commitment to offer innovative products to customers that are affordable and of high-quality. Available as a four-door mock-up, Pontiac G6 comes in three trim levels namely base, GT and GTP, while the coupe and convertible come in either GT or GTP trim. Moreover, there is extra engine power here than the suspension can keep up with.
The generous standard equipment on the base model includes air conditioning, power windows, locks and mirrors, a 60 by 40-split-folding rear seat, a compact disc player and a telescoping steering wheel. The GT adds power-adjustable pedals, an eight-speaker Monsoon sound system, a rear spoiler and alloy wheels. The GTP adds sport suspension, stability control, 18-inch wheels and automatic climate control. Notable options include a remote start system, satellite radio and chrome alloy wheels.
All trims of the Pontiac G6 model have same automatic transmission and Four Wheel Drive. The G6 base is powered with the 2.4 liter Ecotec four cylinder engine while the GT trim comes standard with the 3.5 liter LX9 engine that generates 201 horsepower and 222 pound-feet of torque. However, the G6 GTP trim is power driven and comes with 3.9 liter LZ9 engine rated with 240 horsepower and 241 pound-feet of torque.
The Pontiac G6 features standard four-wheel disc brakes to stop this speedy monster. Antilock brakes and traction control are standard on all except the base sedan. Head-protecting side curtain airbags are optional on sedans only. The GTP features a standard stability control system.
In exterior, Pontiac G6 is available with black, crimson red, electric blue, metallic, emerald green metallic, fusion orange metallic, granite metallic, ivory white, liquid silver metallic and stealth gray metallic colors. On the other hand, the interior is available in a range including ebony leather, ebony premium cloth, ebony or morocco leather, light taupe leather and light taupe premium cloth.
Pontiac is confident to continue its success in the one-tonne pickup segment with the new G6 pickup that aims to set a new standard in the industry in terms of engine performance, fuel economy, passenger comfort, safety features, excellent drivability and affordability.
