Infiniti G35
Infiniti is a subsidiary of Nissan, founded in 1989. Infiniti is a Japanese automobile manufacturer Nissan's luxury brand in the United States, Canadian, Mexican, Middle Eastern, South Korean and Taiwanese markets. Nissan also has plans to release Infiniti into many European markets, China, as well as in Japan. Infiniti vehicles are conventionally based on the similar automobile platforms as Nissan models.
Infiniti G35 is a compact executive car introduced to North America in the 2003 model year, as a replacement for the Infiniti G20 and I35 models. It is recognized as the 11th generation Nissan Skyline in Japan. It is available in sedan and auto forms. A 6 speed manual transmission became available in 2003 as a 2003. Infiniti G35 is assembled in Tochigi, Tochigi, Japan, and the first G35 was built on March 12, 2002 as a 2003 model.
Infiniti G35 is based on the Nissan FM platform shared with the Nissan 350Z sports car and Infiniti FX crossover sport utility vehicle. Infiniti G35 uses a front-midship engine, rear-wheel drive layout to achieve a 52 by 48 weight distribution. Both body styles are available with either a 5-speed automatic or 6-speed manual transmission. The driver is greeted by a T-shaped instrument panel that is new in appearance. Once strapped in, the driver might notice that the driver seat is really different from the front-passenger seat.
Other features include a gauge cluster that tilts in tandem with the steering wheel, an optional and concealable LCD, Liquid Crystal Display screen for the navigation system and an analog clock. Infiniti's target from the beginning was to create a high level of driving performance in a package that offers day to day functionality. All G35s comes standard with four-wheel antilock disc brakes with electronic brake force distribution and brake assist, torso-protecting side airbags and head-protecting side curtain airbags.
Infiniti G35 was Motor Trend's Car of the Year for 2003 and has been well received by both the media and customers as a feasible alternative to more expensive luxury cars. Also Infiniti G35 was chosen for the North American Car of the Year award that year and was on Car and Driver magazine's Ten Best list for 2003 and 2004.
