Honda Insight
In 1948, Honda Motor Company was founded by Soichiro Honda and headquartered in Tokyo, Japan. Honda Motor Company or simply called Honda is a Japanese manufacturer of automobiles, trucks, motorcycles, scooters, robots, jet engines and jets. However, as the name of the company in Japanese suggests, the company is often described as engineering or Engine Company rather than a car company.
The Honda Insight is a two-seater hybrid automobile manufactured by the Japanese automaker Honda. It was the first mass-produced hybrid automobile sold in the United States, introduced in 1999 in Japan, however, the first generation of the Toyota Prius was launched in 1997. The Insight's engine won the international engine of the year award for 2000, and continued to hold the sub-1 liter size category for the next six years. The Insight was nominated for the North American car of the year award for 2001.
The Honda Insight features many advanced construction techniques. The unitized body is made of aluminum and boasts a drag coefficient of only 0.25. It has aerodynamic bodywork, flat underbody, low rolling-resistance tires and extensive use of lightweight materials. Honda says the Insight requires 30-percent less power to operate at highway speeds than the previous-generation Honda Civic.
Honda Insight Vehicle has a gas mileage of 60 Miles Per Gallon in city and 66 mpg on highway with a 3 cylinder engines, hybrid VTEC, Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System and 1.0 liter. The Honda Insight also happens to be America's most fuel-efficient car. In practice, however, the car's range is about 500 miles. The most revolutionary thing about the Honda Insight is its gasoline-electric hybrid power train or, in Honda's terms, the Integrated Motor Assist IMA system.
The gas engine does the bulk of the work mounted between the gas engine and the transmission, the electric motor provides only supplemental power. With the five-speed, the Honda Insight is rated at 60 mpg in the city and 66 on the highway and is ULEV, Ultra-Low-Emissions Vehicle certified.
The car's small dimensions and light, accurate steering make it a breeze to maneuver in crowded areas. The various safety and precaution measures offered by the car makes it comfortable to drive and worth purchasing it. . Its dashing and athletic look attracts many of the car lovers. All these and many more features of it, distinguishes Honda Insight from the other cars.
