Ford Focus
Ford Motor Company, a global automotive industry leader based in Dearborn, Mich., manufactures and distributes automobiles in 200 markets across six continents. With about 300,000 employees and 108 plants worldwide, the company’s core and affiliated automotive brands include Aston Martin, Ford, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercury and Volvo. Its automotive-related services include Ford Motor Credit Company. The Ford Focus is a compact and small family car made by the Ford Motor Company and sold in most Ford markets worldwide. It was launched in 1998 in Europe, and in 2000 in North America. Since then, it has become the United Kingdom's best selling car, following in the success of its predecessor, the Escort. A new version of the Focus was launched in Europe in January 2005, while the United States received an updated version of the old model. In 2001 and 2002, Focus was the world’s best selling car. The 2007 Ford Focus is a 2 or 4 door, 5 passenger family coupe, family sedan, sports sedan, or wagon, available in 12 trims, ranging from the 3-Door Hatchback S to the Wagon SES. Upon introduction, both trims are equipped with a standard 2.0-liter, I4, 136-horsepower engine that achieves 27 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on the highway. A 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard, and a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is optional. The 2007 Ford Focus is a carryover from 2006. The company is beginning its second century of existence with a worldwide organization that retains and expands Henry Ford's heritage by developing products that serve the varying and ever-changing needs of people in the global community.
