The A6 4.2 receives a new FSI 4.2-liter V8 good for 350 horsepower. Other changes to the A6 line comprise a new trip computer and driver information center, cup holder, overhead console, an MP3-compatible CD changer and metallic trim surrounding the instrument cluster.
The A6, Audi's midsize luxury car, has been around since the year 1998. Some of its pros are an elegantly detailed cabin, nimble feel, all-weather capability, strong V8, and a low price. Though some of its setbacks are V6 short on low-end torque, handling which is not as sharp as BMW's and no manual transmission available.
The safety features include A6's standard four-wheel antilock disc brakes with brake assist and electronic brake force distribution. Its stability control is also standard as are anti-whiplash front head restraints, front-seat side airbags and full-length head curtain airbags.
