Whitlock Motors Chevrolet
Chevrolet is a brand of automobile, produced by GM, General Motors. It is the top selling GM marque and the best known brand of General Motors worldwide, with Chevrolet or Chevy being at times synonymous for GM. Chevrolet is General Motors' largest brand currently offering 19 vehicles and many different enhanced versions. The brand's vehicles range from compact cars to large SUVs, sports utility vehicles. Its number one sellers include the Impala which is the number one selling car with a domestic nameplate in the United States and the Tahoe, the highest selling SUV.
Automobiles and the name Whitlock have been synonymous in the Big Horn Basin area since 1948. Originating in Powell, Wyoming as an independent automobile retail lot by Bill Whitlock, and in operation until August of 1990 when the dealership was sold. Bill Whitlock's first franchise was Rambler back in the late 1950's evolving into Volkswagen in the early 1960's, then growing by adding Audi in 1972. From there he added GMC Trucks in 1974, Subaru in 1975, Toyota in 1983, and Chevrolet Buick in 1987. His son's Craig and Brett were involved growing up in the business until 1983 when Craig pursued other interests and Brett took over the operation of the store until it was sold.
In April of 1996 Brett and Cathy Whitlock opened up Whitlock Motors as an independent retail store in Cody, to continue the legacy of the Whitlock name and reputation of quality and honesty in the automobile business. Today they are running strong with the finest of employees, and a reputation of delivering everything they promise to each customer that enters there door.
