The McLarty Group purchased four states Chrysler Plymouth Dodge in Texarkana which, combined with the Texarkana Ford dealership acquired in 1959, made the group the dominant automobile retailer in the Texarkana market.
The present-day McLarty Auto Mall is part of Asbury Automotive Group. Asbury and McLarty Auto Group formed a joint venture in August of 1998.
